Life is hectic at the moment. Fitting writing around my full time job, and around other busy life commitments, is proving a challenge. A satisfying challenge of course, but still, time is sparse. So, I’m keeping it simple on the blog this week, and sharing 5 inspiring quotes that encourage me to find the time to write – and stick to it. Enjoy!
“Find your best time of the day for writing and write. Don’t let anything else interfere. Afterwards it won’t matter to you that the kitchen is a mess.”
— Esther Freud

“It takes an awful lot of time not to write a book.”
– Douglas Adams

“Protect the time and space in which you write. Keep everybody away from it, even the people who are most important to you.”
– Zadie Smith

“When asked, ‘How do you write?’ I invariably answer, ‘one word at a time’.”
– Stephen King

“Probably the most important thing I’ve learned is that if I don’t make the time to do the writing, the writing won’t get done.”
– Judy Reeves

I hope these quotes inspire you as much as they do me! Drop your thoughts in the comments below.
Until then,
Keep writing,
M

Agreed, it can be a challenge to set aside time to write. I’ve found that taking the steps to make writing into a routine has been great for me.

PS – Ironically, Stephen King was interviewed this morning on CBS Sunday Morning. He said when he finished a book, he would let it marinate some and come back for a review. He did not want to err either way thinking it was awful or very good. Keith
